Frequently asked questions
What is different about Supply Plus?
Supply Plus is part of Plymouth Learning Partnership (PLP), we are a community interest company which is driven by the purpose of providing services for vulnerable children. As a not-for-profit agency all profits are reinvested into our Multi- Agency Support Team (MAST), who provide psychological and therapeutic support for children within local school settings.
Do I have to take on the day bookings?
No, when we build your profile, we can exclude on the day bookings so you will only show as available for pre-booked work.
Can I only work in certain year groups?
Yes, you have the flexibility to work in only the year groups you feel most confident in.
Will I receive any training?
Upon joining us and every 2 years thereafter we run mandatory Safeguarding Training.
We also offer CPD in GDPR, Behaviour Management, Autism and Trauma Informed Practice.
Can I work half days?
Yes, you can arrange your calendar so that you will show as available for All Day, AM (start of the day until lunch time) or PM (after lunch until the end of the school day) bookings.
Can I choose which days I work?
Of course, such is the flexibility of supply teaching, once registered you will have access to an online calendar where you can block off days or half days around your other commitments.
Will I receive holiday pay?
All pay rates are inclusive of statutory holiday pay.
How much will I be paid?
We offer competitive rates of pay, which will be discussed at the interview.
How often will I be paid?
You will be paid one month in arrears, on the last working day of the month. For example, work completed in January will be paid at the end of February.
How do I submit my timesheet?
Once logged into the website go to:
- Timesheets
- Select the timesheets you would like to submit (a tick will appear once selected)
- Press submit
How do I log in to the Supply Plus website?
To apply you will need to enter your email address with a password of your choice and click ‘Start an Application’ this will take you to an application form to be completed in your own time.
Once you ‘go live’, you will log in using the same details in the ‘Staff and School Personnel’ section.
How do I request a reference for my new employer?
Please send reference requests to supplyplus@plpcic.co.uk for the attention of the Supply Plus Lead.
I have lived overseas – what do I need to do?
In addition to the documentation we would usually ask for, we will need to see a Police Clearance Certificate for each country that you have lived in for 3 months or longer.
Do I need to pay to register?
There is no charge to register with Supply Plus.
As part of the application process, you will be required to apply for an Enhanced DBS at your own cost. If you currently have a DBS Certificate registered with the update service, we may be able to accept this.
Can I re-apply to work with you?
Of course! We understand teachers work as supply teachers for a variety of reasons, if you have left or taken a break you are more than welcome to re-join us.
We will need:
- A new DBS Certificate or will run a new check if your DBS is registered with the update service.
- A reference from your most recent employer
I’m still at university, can I register?
Yes, if you’re in your last year of your teaching degree and have completed all teaching practice elements of your degree then you are welcome to apply.
What documents to I need to register?
- Hold a relevant teaching qualification or be in your last year of teacher training
- Once qualified, your QTS Certificate
- Have classroom experience
- Hold a UK passport or a valid working visa
- Provide proof of identification and address – including original documents
- Be willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS check
What qualifications do I need to register?
You will need a recognised teaching qualification to register with us or be in the last year of your degree.
